Forbes has just released their “Highest-Paid Celebrities List” for the period between May 2011 and May 2012, and surprise, surprise, you’d be in pretty sparse company if you were a musician on that list. The list is crowded with media and movie moguls, but only boasts 3 musicians out of 21.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato confirmed as X Factor judges

During FOX’s 2012 upfronts presentation yesterday at the Beacon Theatre in New York, both Britney Spears and Demi Lovato made appearances to confirm their participation in the upcoming season of the American version of X Factor. Spears and Lovato will join Simon Cowell and Epic Records C.E.O. L.A. Reid on the judges panel, replacing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who were let go from the show after its first season. Will Britney and Demi give X Factor the ratings and credibility boost the show needs to compete with other televised singing competitions?

Britney Spears will ink deal for $15 million to judge X Factor

TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is close to approving a deal with Simon Cowell that would have her judging the X Factor next season, to the tune of $15 million. Clearly, judging a television singing competition is just as fruitful as releasing your own celebrity fragrance. This got us to thinking — what could Britney spend her $15 million X Factor salary on?
